Where I'm From
I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on May 10, 1949.  My family moved to California when I was in elementary school but every summer I returned to Tennessee to stay with my grandparents.  My grandfather was responsible for instilling strong ethical values in me and was my best friend until his death in the early 1980’s.

Education
I graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine in 1971 with a degree in Economics.  I then went to the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 1974.

Admission to Practice
I was admitted to the California State Bar and the U. S. District Court for the Central District of California in 1974 and to the U. S. Supreme Court in 1985.

Professional Life

Upon passing the bar in 1974, I started my own practice which grew to become the current firm of Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie.  We developed an excellent reputation for representing clients injured due to the negligence of others.  I am especially proud of the judgments and verdicts we obtained against over 30 different insurance companies guilty of bad faith insurance practices.

Personal Life

I have been married for 29 years.  My wife and I enjoy traveling and have bicycled extensively throughout France.
