4/2/2012Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 30th, 30-year-old David Godin, of Covina, was injured in a motorcycle accident. The collision occurred when the driver of a 1998 Ford Explorer turned left from South Citrus Avenue onto Arrow Highway in front of Godin, who was traveling westbound at the time. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
“In the event of an accident resulting in injury, the driver found to be at-fault may be held liable for expenses incurred by the other party,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “such as from medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
Azusa accounted for none of the 80 fatalities and 9 of the 2,709 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in traffic accidents in Los Angeles County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident statistics of cities with similar populations. Those with the poorest records receive the highest rankings, with 1st place being the worst. In 2010, Azusa ranked 26th out of 93 cities for injury and fatal motorcycle crashes.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to David Godin, the motorcyclist who was injured in the accident last Friday.
The San Gabriel Valley Tribune originally reported this Azusa collision.
