At about 11:05 a.m. on Friday, October 19, one person was killed and three were injured in a semi crash on the 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar. The collision, which involved three semis and another truck, occurred on the eastbound side of the freeway at Diamond Bar Boulevard. Emergency responders transported the injured, two of them in critical condition, to the hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a collision causes injury or death to those involved, the victims may hold the negligent party liable for the cost of their recoveries, while the families of the deceased may seek compensation for expenses associated with their losses,” explained California truck accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Diamond Bar accounted for 3 of the 346 fatalities and 479 of the 62,881 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in crashes that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Large trucks were in involved in 47 of the fatal and 1,535 of the injury collisions in the county that year.
