4/27/2012Shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25th, 42-year-old Rhonda Martinson and 20-year-old Anthony Allen were killed in a head-on collision in Fontana. While traveling westbound on Foothill Boulevard in a 2005 Honda Accord, Allen veered into opposing lanes of traffic and crashed into the 1989 Toyota Corolla Martinson was driving. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics transported Allen to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“The formal investigation into a fatal accident can take several weeks, which can be difficult for family members seeking information about what happened to their loved one,” explained a California personal injury attorney.
Fontana accounted for 11 of the 192 fatalities and 644 of the 10,983 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents throughout San Bernardino County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, 3,081 people lost their lives in vehicle collisions that occurred in the state, 11.9 percent more than in 2010.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Rhonda Martinson and Anthony Allen, the vehicle occupants killed in the head-on collision last Wednesday.
