Garden Grove: Rollover Crash Trapped Two People

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23^rd, a rollover crash left two people trapped in their vehicle in Garden Grove. While turning left at Cypress Street, a Ford Taurus collided with a Nissan Murano that was traveling east on Garden Grove Boulevard, the impact sending the Murano into the center divider before it rolled over twice. Firefighters extricated the two occupants, one of whom was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Taurus was not injured, explains an Orange County car accident attorney. 

Garden Grove accounted for 8 of the 101 fatalities and 778 of the 16,620 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents in Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS). That year, the number of traffic-related fatalities decreased by 10.3 percent in the state, the lowest level recorded since 1975, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety.
