At about 7:24 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, one person was killed and two others were injured in a multiple-vehicle crash in Jurupa Valley, reported The Press-Enterprise. The collision, which on-the-scene photos suggest involved a black pickup truck, a dump truck, and an SUV, occurred on Riverview Drive near Mission Boulevard and the Rubidoux Child Development Center, the Rubidoux Library, and the West Riverside Elementary School. One person died in the accident. Another suffered major trauma and a third sustained minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.
In Jurupa Valley, motor vehicle collisions claimed 4 lives and injured another 207 people in 2011, according to the California Highway Patrol’s most current crash statistics. Throughout Riverside County, the death toll in collisions was 153 and 10,025 people were injured. Statewide, the number of deaths suffered in auto accidents rose 2.6 percent from 2,720 in 2010 to 2,791 in 2011.
