At about 1:41 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014, seven people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred in the Glen Avon community of Jurupa Valley, reported The Press-Enterprise. The vehicles collided at Wineville Avenue and East Mission Boulevard. Emergency responders transported the seven victims, whose injuries ranged from minor to major, to area hospitals. The crash is under investigation.

Motor vehicle collisions claimed 153 lives and caused injury to 10,025 people in Riverside County in 2011, the most current year for which the California Highway Patrol has published accident data. In Jurupa Valley, 4 people lost their lives and 207 suffered trauma in crashes that year. When compared to 93 other cities with populations of between 25,001 and 50,000, Jurupa Valley ranked 38th for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes in a California Office of Traffic Safety rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.

Vehicle occupants who sustain trauma in collisions may pursue personal injury claims against the at-fault parties in order to be compensated for the expenses associated with their recoveries, such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
