Shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday, April 22, a motorcyclist was killed and two people were injured in a crash in Lake Elsinore. While traveling northbound on Interstate 15, the motorcyclist collided with a Mercedes and a Dodge Ram near Indian Truck Trail Road. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders transported two other victims to an area hospital to receive treatment for moderate trauma. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a motor vehicle collision results in injury or fatality, the victims may file personal injury claims and their families may pursue wrongful death claims against the negligent party in order to obtain compensation for expenses associated with their recoveries or losses,” explained California motorcycle accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Lake Elsinore accounted for none of the 36 fatalities and 10 of the 507 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in crashes that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, the city also accounted for 4 of the 164 fatalities and 198 of the 10,594 injuries suffered by motorists in the county.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the motorcyclist who was killed in the collision. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the two people who were injured.
