At about 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2014, 40-year-old Danny Troung, of Downey, was killed in a fiery crash on I-605 in Los Alamitos, reported the Orange County Register. While entering the freeway from Katella Avenue, the driver of a black Toyota Camry lost control, spinning into middle lanes. Troung broke to avoid a collision and was rear-ended by a speeding Nissan Titan, the impact pushing his silver Acura TL into the Toyota and sending it into the guardrail on the right shoulder. The Acura and the Nissan then struck the median wall, causing the Acura to ignite into flames. Authorities arrested the driver of the Nissan, 40-year-old Edwin Jesus Amaya. Witnesses to the crash are asked to contact California Highway Patrol officer Stacy Willits at 714-892-4426.
