Shortly after noon on Tuesday, June 19th, a rollover accident on Interstate 215 in Menifee left two people dead and one seriously injured. The vehicle overturned near the McCall Boulevard off ramp. California Highway Patrol officers responding to the scene found the vehicle on its roof in a field. Authorities are investigating the crash.
“Passengers who suffer serious trauma in a crash may hold the negligent driver responsible for expenses associated with their recovery,” explained California personal injury attorney James Ballidis. “Families of passengers fatally injured in a collision may pursue a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver.”
Menifee accounted for 8 of the 172 fatalities and 251 of the 10,963 injuries suffered by passenger vehicle occupants in traffic accidents that occurred in Riverside County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Riverside ranked 42nd for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions out of 58 counties that year; the California Office of Traffic Safety ranks those counties with poor records higher, with 1st place being the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of the two people killed in the rollover accident today. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the person who was injured.
