At about 4:51 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, 60-year-old Mark Brogan was seriously injured in a crash in Desert Hot Springs, reported The Desert Sun. The crash, which involved a silver Mini Cooper and a red Dodge pickup, occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 62 at Indian Canyon Drive. Emergency responders transported Brogan to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, March 15. Authorities are investigating the accident.

Desert Hot Springs accounted for none of the 153 fatalities and 80 of the 10,025 injuries suffered in motor vehicle crashes that occurred in Riverside County in 2011, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident data of cities with similarly sized populations, giving those with the worst records the highest rankings, starting with 1st place. That year, Desert Hot Springs ranked 39th out of 94 cities with populations of between 25,001 and 50,000 for fatal and injury collisions.

When a family loses a loved one to a traffic accident, they may file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver in order to hold him or her liable for their loss. For more information on the wrongful death claims process, please call 888-752-7474 or contact us online.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Mark Brogan.
