At about 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, two people were injured in a car accident in Palm Springs. The collision occurred near the intersection of Sunrise Way and Vista Chino when an Acura TL sedan pulled out of an Albertsons parking lost into eastbound lanes and was hit by a westbound Nissan Cube. Emergency responders transported the driver of the Nissan to an area hospital to receive treatment for moderate trauma. The driver of the Acura sustained minor injuries.
“When motor vehicle occupants are injured in a crash, the negligent driver may be legally obligated to compensate them for the expense of their recoveries,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering.”
Palm Springs accounted for 11 of the 164 fatalities and 386 of the 10,594 injuries suffered by the occupants of motor vehicles in collisions that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident data of cities with similarly sized populations, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, with 1st place considered the worst. That year, Palm Springs ranked 3rd out of 93 cities with populations ranging in size from 25,001 to 50,000 residents.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the two people who were injured in the car accident.
