At about 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 45-year-old Gregg Beason was fatally injured in a T-bone accident in Ramona. The driver of a pickup truck broadsided Beason’s full-sized pickup truck at the intersection of Matlin and Ramona Oaks roads in the city’s Country Estates. Emergency medical personnel transported him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The other driver also suffered trauma in the crash. The CHP is investigating the collision.

“When a motorist is fatally injured in a crash, his or her family may hold the negligent driver liable for their loss by filing a wrongful death claim,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.

Throughout San Diego County, 126 motor vehicle occupants were killed and 15,939 were injured in collisions in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident data of the state’s 58 counties, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, with 1st place considered the worst. That year, San Diego ranked 38th for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Gregg Beason, the man who was fatally injured in the T-bone accident.
