At about 1:46 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 51-year-old motorcyclist Thomas Paar, of Mentone, was fatally injured in a crash in Redlands. While riding near the intersection of West Stuart Avenue and Eureka Street, Paar was involved in a collision with a 1999 Toyota Corolla. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“After a fatal collision, the driver determined to be at-fault may be held liable by the family of the victim for their loss,” explained California motorcycle accident lawyer James Ballidis.

Redlands accounted for none of the 26 fatalities and 12 of the 467 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in crashes that occurred in San Bernardino County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The incidence of motorcyclist fatalities in the state increased 15 percent from 352 in 2010 to 414 in 2011.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Thomas Paar, the motorcyclist who was fatally injured in the collision.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this Redlands crash.
