Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014, 44-year-old Carol Rose Anderson was killed in a crash in San Bernardino, reported the Daily Press. The two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Kendall Avenue and University Parkway. The impact caused one of the vehicles to catch on fire. Emergency responders pronounced Anderson dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the accident.
The California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current accident statistics indicate that 978 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions that occurred in San Bernardino in 2011. Eighty-two of the fatal and injury crashes occurred between 9 p.m. and 2:59 a.m. The OTS ranked San Bernardino 23rd out of 55 cities for its incidence of crashes in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
