On the afternoon of Thursday, November 8, a semi crash on the 118 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley injured two people. The collision between the car and the truck occurred on an offramp near San Fernando and the transition to the 5 Freeway, the impact sending the car over the side of the road and down an embankment and causing the tractor-trailer to jackknife. Emergency responders transported two occupants of the car to an area hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“Under California law, the victims of traffic collisions may seek compensation from the negligent party for the expense of their recoveries,” explained California truck accident attorney James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
Throughout Los Angeles County, traffic collisions claimed the lives of 346 motor vehicle occupants and injured another 62,881 in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Large trucks were involved in 47 of the fatal and 1,535 of the injury crashes that occurred in the county that year.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the two people who were injured in the semi crash on the 118 Freeway.
