Shortly after 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 1st, four people were seriously injured in a rollover accident on the 405 Freeway. The two-vehicle collision occurred in the southbound lanes near Seal Beach Boulevard, the impact causing one of the vehicles to rollover onto a dirt embankment bordering the freeway. Paramedics transported the occupants—two adults and two children—to local hospitals to receive treatment for major trauma. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“When motorists are injured in a collision, the at-fault driver may be held liable for the other party’s injury-related expenses,” explained an auto accident attorney in Orange County, “such as medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”

Seal Beach accounted for 1 of the 101 fatalities and 211 of the 16,620 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents in Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. In 2010, traffic fatalities in the state decreased by 11.9 percent, from 3, 081 the previous year to 2,715.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish the four people who were seriously injured in the rollover accident on the 405 Freeway a full recovery.

The Orange County Register originally reported this Seal Beach collision.
