4/24/2012On the morning of Sunday, April 22nd, one man was killed and two were seriously injured when a vehicle crashed into a wall in South Los Angeles. While traveling northbound on Arlington Avenue, the driver lost control of the vehicle near Adams Boulevard, slamming into a wall. Paramedics transported the men to a nearby hospital, where one was pronounced dead and the other two were treated for major trauma. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“In most cases, when a passenger is injured in a crash, he or she may seek compensation from the at-fault driver’s insurance,” explained a California personal injury attorney, “including for the cost of medical treatment for the injury, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
In Los Angeles County, 390 motor vehicle occupants lost their lives in accidents and another 64,178 were injured, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The following year, the incidence of traffic-related deaths in the state declined by 11.9 percent, from 3,081 to 2,715—the lowest number recorded since 1975.
