Shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, one person was killed and two were seriously injured in a car accident in Sun Valley. A Lexus sedan slammed into a wall in the 8300 block of La Tuna Canyon Road. Emergency responders declared one vehicle occupant dead at the scene; two others were transported to area hospitals to receive treatment for major trauma. Authorities are investigating the collision.
“When a crash results in fatality or injury, the victims or their families may hold the negligent party liable for expenses related to their recoveries or losses,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
In 2010, 72,010 motor vehicle occupants were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in Los Angeles County, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current statistics. Los Angeles ranked 15th out of California’s 58 counties for its motor vehicle traffic safety record; 1st is the worst placement a county may receive from the OTS.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the person who was killed in the car accident. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the two people who were injured.
