On Thursday, October 23, 2014, 11-year-old Isaiah Shelton-Dobine was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Upland, reported the Los Angeles Times. Twenty-five-year-old Jason Fehr struck the boy, who was on his way to school, at the intersection of Arrow Highway and Benson Avenue with his white Jeep Cherokee and fled the scene. Shelton-Dobine was taken to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities apprehended Fehr and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
The California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current crash data indicate that 297 people were killed or injured in motor vehicle collisions in 2011.
