At about 2:25 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, one person was injured in a semi crash on the 710 Freeway in Vernon. While traveling northbound, the driver of the semi encountered a stalled pickup truck near Atlantic Boulevard and crashed into the center divider while attempting to avoid a collision. Several lanes of the freeway were closed until 6:40 a.m. while authorities investigated and the accident was cleared.
“When a collision results in injury, the driver determined to be at-fault for the accident may be held liable for the victims’ recovery-related expenses,” explained California truck accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Vernon accounted for 5 of the 346 fatalities and 120 of the 62,881 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in collisions that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Large trucks were involved in 47 of the fatal and 1,535 of the injury crashes that occurred in the county that year.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the person who was injured in the semi crash on the 710 Freeway this morning.
