Victorville: Collision with Truck Injured Motorcyclist

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a truck in Victorville. The crash occurred near the intersection of Ridgecrest Road and Vista Point Drive near Spring Valley Lake. Emergency responders transported the rider to the hospital to receive treatment for major trauma to the left leg. The accident is under investigation.

“After a collision resulting in trauma, the party determined to be at-fault may be held liable for the recovery-related expenses of the victims,” explained California motorcycle accident lawyer James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”

Victorville accounted for 4 of the 26 fatalities and 20 of the 467 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in collisions that occurred in San Bernardino County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident data of cities with populations of a similar size. Those with the poorest records receive the highest rankings, starting with 1st place. That year, Victorville ranked 18th out of 53 cities for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle accidents.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the motorcyclist who was injured in the collision with the truck.

The Daily Press originally reported this Victorville collision.
