Westminster: 6 Injured in Crash on 22 Freeway

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 12^th, 6 people were injured in a crash on the 22 Freeway near Beach Boulevard in Westminster. According to one witness, a sport utility vehicle spun out of control, crashed into the center divider, and was struck by two other vehicles. Paramedics transported three of the occupants to trauma centers and the other three to nearby hospitals. Authorities are investigating the multiple-vehicle collision, explains an auto accident lawyer in Orange County. 

Westminster accounted for 2 of the 101 fatalities and 529 of the 16,620 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents in Orange County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic fatalities in the state decreased by 10.3 percent, from 3,434 to 3,081.
