At about 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014, 16-year-old skateboarder Logan Wells was fatally injured in an accident in Yorba Linda. A Kia Sorrento struck Wells near Secretariat Way as it traveled eastbound on Bastanchury Road. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to the trauma he suffered. The 61-year-old male driver of the vehicle is not suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, which is under investigation.

Family members and friends of the El Dorado High School student constructed a makeshift memorial of flowers, candles, and skateboards near the scene of the collision on Sunday, reported the Los Angeles Times
