Dog bite victim recovers for failure to monitor dog.

Our client was bitten by a dog as he approached the front door of a house where he had applied to be a roommate.  The owner had already been chastized by the City of San Clemente for another incident with the same animal.  The City had declared the dog to be "Vicious" according to statute and therefore the owner had to comply with certain conditions for keeping the dog.  The City however failed to follow up on those conditions, and the owner ignored the requirements or keeping the dog safe around others.  Cities typically claim immunity from carrying out their duty.

The injuries were not serious but did cause an unsightly scar on the client's leg.  Our office successfully negotiated a  settlement with the parties.  Congratulations to Michael Bock for a successful outcome to this case.
