Our client was walking eastbound on Paularino Avenue in Orange County California in the crosswalk on a green walk signal. As she approached the middle of the number two lane, the defendant executed a left turn directly into her. Our client saw the defendant approaching, threw her hands in the air to wave, but he was unable to stop before striking her. As a result, she was thrown up onto the hood, crossed over the hood, and fell on the driver’s side of the vehicle face down on the pavement. the defendant was found to be at fault for this collision in violation of CVC 21950 (a), failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. She had a socket fracture but no impairment of vision and a full recovery.
