Wrongful death sons receive successful settlement over 'New Wife."

In an interesting case, several out of state brothers contacted our office when they learned that their new step mother was demanding all settlement proceeds of a wrongful death claim.  The decedent was killed in a freeway accident leaving the four sons.  His prior wife of 45 years had died several years before and  his "new wife" of  2 years wanted all settlement proceeds of the wrongful death.  What was particularly alarminmg is that the new wife had also made provisions for all the assets of the father to be paid to her as well, a sizable estate.  She could care less about the boys and their legacy.
