91 Freeway Accident Leaves 2 Dead

Late last night, an SUV struck a disabled BMW in the westbound carpool lane of the 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Street. The freeway accident left 2 dead, the driver and the 86-year-old female passenger of the BMW. Both the driver and the right front passenger of the SUV sustained major injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital, explains an Orange County car accident attorney.

Throughout Orange County, there were 152 fatal vehicle collisions and 13,414 injury accidents in 2008, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Nationwide, a recent study by the U.S. Department of Transportation indicated that driving deaths decreased by 8.9% from 2008 to 2009.
