Anaheim: One Killed, One Seriously Injured in Car Accident
Posted on Aug 09, 2011
At about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 5th, one person was killed and another seriously injured in a car accident in Anaheim. The crash occurred on Ball Road near Magnolia Avenue when a woman driving a black Lincoln veered into oncoming traffic, crashing head-on into a silver Mazda, the impact causing it to rollover. Authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Mazda suffered major trauma and was airlifted to the hospital, while three children who were also occupants of the vehicle were transported by ambulance, explains an Orange County car accident attorney.
Anaheim accounted for 2,129 of the 18,867 fatal and injury motor vehicle traffic collisions that occurred throughout Orange County in 2009, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most recent statistics. That year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recorded a nationwide total of 33,808 traffic-related fatalities, the lowest number since 1950.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish the driver who was seriously injured, as well as the three children, a full recovery. We would also like to offer our condolences to the family of the woman who was killed in the accident.
