Anaheim: Truck Struck, Fatally Injured Female Pedestrian
Posted on Dec 05, 2012
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, a pickup truck struck and fatally injured a female pedestrian in Anaheim. The accident occurred at the intersection of Dale Street and Broadway. Emergency responders transported the 29-year-old Buena Park woman to UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for major trauma. She succumbed to her injuries early Wednesday morning. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When the death of a pedestrian can be attributed to the negligence of a driver, the family of the victim may hold the driver liable for their loss through the wrongful death claims process,” explained Orange County injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Ninety-three pedestrians were killed or injured in accidents that occurred in Anaheim in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current statistics. Anaheim ranked 11th out of 13 cities its size for fatal and injury accidents involving pedestrians in an OTS ranking system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the woman who was struck and fatally injured.
The Orange County Register originally reported this fatal pedestrian accident.
