Big rig accident causes 5 freeway snarls.

BURBANK, California was the scene of a big rig accident at 6 am today.  Apparently, a big-rig truck crashed through a center divider and caught fire.  It is unclear why the big rig crash occurred or whether the big rig hit cars on the other side of the roadway.  The accident involved 5 other vehicles, reported the CHP. 

Highway travel through the scene of the accident on interstate 5 is likely to be slow most of the day while the accident remnants and investigation continue. Big rigs pose a greater danger on our highways when they are operated in lanes other than to the far right or second to the right lane.  It is unclear at this time if the big rig was in the fast lane when it lost control.
