Buena Park: Vehicle Struck, Killed Pedestrian David Beltran
Posted on May 31, 2013
At about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, a vehicle struck and killed 52-year-old pedestrian David Beltran in Buena Park. While traveling near the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Stanton Avenue, the driver of a Toyota hit Beltran, who was crossing the street at the time. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a pedestrian is killed in an accident for which he or she was not at-fault, his or her family may file a wrongful death claim against the driver in order to be compensated for their loss,” explained Orange County injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Twenty-seven pedestrians were killed or injured in traffic accidents that occurred in Buena Park in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The OTS ranked Buena Park 35th out of 103 cities with populations of a similar size for its incidence of fatal and injury pedestrian accidents that year; 1st place is the worst possible ranking.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of David Beltran, the man who was struck and killed.
The Orange County Register originally reported this Buena Park pedestrian accident.
