Buena Park: Motorcyclist Injured in 91 Freeway Crash

At about 12:15 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision on the 91 Freeway in Buena Park, reported the Orange County Register. While traveling westbound, a Toyota Camry spun out and came to a rest sideways in the carpool lane. The motorcyclist then struck the Toyota. Emergency responders transported the rider to an area hospital to receive treatment for moderate trauma. Authorities are investigating the crash.
Fifteen motorcyclists suffered serious or fatal injuries in collisions in Buena Park in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The OTS ranked Buena Park 31st out of 102 cities with populations of between 50,001 and 100,000 for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle accidents in a ranking system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Statewide, motorcyclist fatalities increased 4.6 percent from 415 in 2011 to 435 in 2012.
