The Orange County Transportation Authority spokesman confirmed this week that one of their buses had collided with a BMW 4-door sedan on Monday. The accident happened at around 1:30pm when route #43 bus was heading north on Harbor Boulevard and collided with the vehicle just south of Heil Avenue in Fountain Valley.
Four bus passengers and the BMW driver were taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. Eye witnesses said that several passengers were taken off the bus in neck braces and many complained of neck and back pain. None of the injuries were life-threatening.
The bus did not reveal much damage except for the front bike rack. However the BMW had extensive damage; including the left quarter panel being completely smashed in and the car was rear ended. The force of the crash spun the car completely around and the BMW ultimately came to rest on a nearby curb.
