Car runs over three-year-old in fatal Santa Ana accident

A three-year-old boy is dead after being run over while riding his scooter near his Santa Ana home.
The accident occurred on the afternoon of April 30. The little boy was riding through an alley in the 1700 block of South Evergreen Street, when a 69-year-old male driver backed his car over the little boy. The boy died at the scene.
The man did not stop. However, witnesses reported the accident to the man’s daughter. She phoned him and he returned to the scene. The man had thought the noise of the crash was due to a pothole.
The accident is under investigation.
There are many factors that go into determining responsibility for a pedestrian accident. Driver negligence may be a factor, but road condition may have also contributed to this accident. It is essential that a proper investigation be completed.
