Car strikes and kills cyclist wearing a helmet. why?

On 1/27/2010 at approximately 2:30 PM, a Toyota Camry, westbound on Kimball, collided with a bicycle ridden by Roy Carl Hall  Mr. Hall lived in Ontario.  The 59 year old was transported to a Regional Medical Center but unfortunately did not survive the accident.

Police in Chino are investigating the accident.  It is unclear exactly how the collision occurred.  Despite wearing a helmet, Me Hall still died of his injuries.

Cycling in Southern California can be dangerous.  Frequently, cars strike cyclists and the driver never saw the cyclist.  It is a phenomenon that repeats itself with motorcyclists as well. 

We want to extend our sympathy to the Hall family who must endure this difficult time.  We hope that the investigation leads to answers.  So frequently, the family becomes victim to the lack of information about the accident.  Mr. Hall is unable to speak for himself, so it is hoped that witnesses to the collision come forward.  If you have any information about this accident, please call the Chino police Department.
