Carson: Motorcycle Rider Killed in Collision with Semi on 405 Freeway
Posted on Mar 14, 2012
At about 4:39 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13th, a 42-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a collision with a semi truck on the 405 Freeway in the Carson area. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Avalon Boulevard. Authorities pronounced the man dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
“Interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence at the scene immediately after a fatal crash is key to determining its cause,” said California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Carson accounted for none of the 80 fatalities and 21 of the 2,709 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in traffic accidents in Los Angeles County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Statewide, motorcycle fatalities decreased by 10.7 percent, from 394 in 2009 to 352 in 2010.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the motorcycle rider who was killed in the collision with the semi truck on the 405 Freeway yesterday.
