Corona: Highway 91 Crash Injured Two

At about 7:23 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, a crash on Highway 91 left two people injured in Corona, reported The Press-Enterprise. Six vehicles collided in eastbound lanes east of Green River Road, the impact leaving one on its side, another on its roof, and causing a third to catch on fire. Emergency responders transported two people to an area hospital to receive treatment for the trauma they suffered. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
Traffic collisions claimed the lives of or caused injury to 367 people in Corona in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most up-to-date accident statistics. Corona ranked well for traffic safety in an OTS comparison of its accident record to those of 54 other similarly sized cities, placing 52nd in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. That year, accidents claimed 2,816 lives in the state.
