Corona: Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident

At about 5:43 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2014, a motorcyclist was injured in a hit-and-run accident in Corona, reported The Press-Enterprise. A black sedan collided with the rider on Highway 91 near Highway 71 and fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Throughout Riverside County, 563 motorcyclists lost their lives or were injured in collisions in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Three of the fatal or injury accidents occurred in Corona. Hit-and-run was a factor in 511 of the crashes that resulted in injury or death, with the OTS ranking Riverside 39th out of 58 counties for its incidence of motorcycle collisions in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
