Corona: Teen Died after Rollover Crash
Posted on May 19, 2014
On Friday, May 16, 2014, a teen died from injuries he sustained in a rollover crash that occurred in Corona on May 5, reported The Press-Enterprise. The 16-year-old was one of four minors who were riding in a 2011 Ford Mustang that crashed into trees and a cable utility box before rolling over at about 6 p.m. that day. The driver, 20-year-old Crystal Urena, of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred in the 1600 block of Via Pacifica.
The California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records indicate that 367 people were killed or injured in collisions that occurred in Corona in 2011. Five of those accidents involved a driver who was under the age of 21. Corona ranked 42nd out of 55 cities with populations of between 100,001 and 250,000 for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes involving drivers in this age group; 1st place is the worst possible ranking, so the city would be considered to place above average.
