Daggett: Michael Ruhl Killed in I-40 Semi Crash

At about 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, 60-year-old Michael Ruhl, of Banning, was killed in a semi crash on I-40 in Daggett, reported The Press-Enterprise. Ruhl was heading eastbound when his big rig collided with a westbound tractor-trailer north of Nisquali Road. He was declared dead at the scene. The CHP is investigating the accident.
Throughout San Bernardino County, 11,627 people were killed or injured in traffic accidents that occurred in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. Large trucks were involved in 29 of the fatal and 438 of the injury collisions that occurred in the county. Across California, large trucks were involved in 245 accidents that resulted in death and 5,155 that caused injury.
