DUI Car Crash Leaves One Dead

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night, the 24-year-old driver of a Toyota sedan used the right shoulder of the freeway in an attempt to pass a semi-truck tractor. Speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol, the man lost control of the vehicle, swerving off of the freeway, down an embankment, and into a palm tree. The DUI car crash left one of his passengers, a 23-year-old Diamond Bar woman, dead and the other, a 22-year-old Anaheim woman, injured. CHP arrested the man for felony drunk driving, reported the Orange County Register.

As Labor Day approaches, Southern California drivers should report instances of drunk driving by calling 911. Indications of drunk driving include weaving across lanes, swerving, wide turns, driving at erratic speeds, delayed response to traffic signals, and following to closely.
