Posted on Jan 21, 2013
At about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, a vehicle struck and seriously injured 43-year-old pedestrian Mike Nguyen in Fountain Valley. While traveling northbound on Euclid Street, a driver attempted to turn right onto eastbound Stonecress Avenue and hit Nguyen as he entered the intersection. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital to receive treatment for head trauma. Witnesses, or anyone with information about the accident, are asked to contact Fountain Valley police at 714-593-4484.
“When a pedestrian is injured in an accident, he or she may hold the negligent party liable for recovery-related expenses,” explained Orange County injury lawyer James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
Thirteen pedestrians were killed or injured in accidents that occurred in Fountain Valley in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The OTS compares the accident data of cities with populations of a similar size, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, with 1st place considered the worst. That year, Fountain Valley ranked 65th out of 103 cities for its incidence of fatal and injury pedestrian accidents.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to Mike Nguyen, the pedestrian who was struck and injured.
