Fountain Valley: One Injured in 405 Freeway Semi Crash

Shortly after 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at least one person was injured in a crash on the 405 Freeway in Fountain Valley, reported the Orange County Register. A semi collided with a Honda sedan in southbound lanes near the Euclid Street exit, causing oil to be spilled across the freeway and the temporary closure of all lanes. All lanes were reopened by 1:15 p.m. Authorities are investigating the accident.
Motor vehicle collisions claimed the lives of or caused injury to 480 people in Fountain Valley in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. The OTS compares the accident data of cities with populations of a similar size. The agency ranks those with the greatest incidences of fatal and injury crashes the highest, starting at 1st place. That year, Fountain Valley ranked the worst out of 102 cities for traffic safety.
