Fullerton: Motorcyclist Burton Ewing Jr. Killed in Crash

At about 7:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, motorcyclist Burton Ewing Jr., of Anaheim, was killed in a crash in Fullerton, reported the Orange County Register. A vehicle collided with Ewing, who was riding northbound on Euclid Street, when it turned left from the southbound lane of Euclid toward the eastbound lane of Baker Street. The driver of the car and a passenger were transported to a hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.
Thirty-two motorcyclists were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in Fullerton in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current statistics. The OTS ranked Fullerton 11th out of 55 similarly sized cities for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle accidents in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Throughout California, motorcycle fatalities increased 4.6 percent, from 415 in 2011 to 435 in 2012.
