At around 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, 65-year-old motorcyclist Jackie Walters was killed in a crash on the 91 Freeway in Fullerton, reported the Orange County Register. While traveling on the eastbound side of the freeway, the 26-year-old female driver of a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse drove onto the right shoulder and struck the concrete sound wall near Beach Boulevard, the impact causing the right front tire to deflate. She then swerved to the left and into the path of Walters, who crashed into the driver’s side of the vehicle. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital, where he succumbed to the trauma he suffered a short time later. The driver of the Mitsubishi sustained minor injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
