Fullerton: Pickup Truck Struck, Killed Phillip Stapleton

At about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, a pickup truck struck and killed pedestrian Phillip Stapleton in Fullerton, reported the Los Angeles Times. The accident occurred at the intersection of East Valenica Drive and South Magnolia Avenue. Police have not arrested the driver. The collision is under investigation.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, 760 people lost their lives or were injured in traffic accidents that occurred in Fullerton in 2011. Fifty-seven of the victims were pedestrians. The agency ranked Fullerton 9th in a comparison of the pedestrian safety of 55 cities with populations of between 100,001 and 250,000 in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
