Garden Grove: Six Injured in Accident on 22 Freeway

At about 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014, six people were injured in an accident on the 22 Freeway in Garden Grove, reported the Orange County Register. According to a witness account, a van collided with a guardrail after it blew out a tire near Haster Street. A motorcycle and a truck were also involved in the accident. Emergency responders transported six people to the hospital. The crash is under investigation.
In Garden Grove, 785 people were killed or injured in traffic accidents in 2011, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. The OTS ranked Garden Grove 25th out of 55 cities with populations of between 100,001 and 250,000 for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes; 1st place is the worst possible ranking. Throughout California, traffic accidents claimed 2,791 lives that year.
