Huntington Beach: Driver Killed, Two Injured in Crash

At about 8 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014, a driver was killed and two passengers were injured in a crash in Huntington Beach, reported the Orange County Register. The car struck a tree near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Sterling Drive. The male driver died at the scene. Emergency responders transported the two passengers to the hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident and have asked that witnesses contact them at 714-960-8811.
In 2011, 1,510 people were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in Huntington Beach, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current accident statistics. The OTS compared the crash data of 55 cities with populations of between 100,001 and 250,000 people and found that Huntington Beach had the worst incidence of fatal and injury collisions that year.
