Johnson Valley: Tyler Shane Correll and Two Teen Passengers Killed in DUI Crash
Posted on Feb 03, 2013
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, 18-year-old Tyler Shane Correll and two teen passengers were killed in a DUI crash in Johnson Valley. While traveling northbound on Old Woman Springs Road, the driver of a 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup truck entered the southbound lane in order to pass other northbound cars and collided head-on with the 2001 Saturn Correll was driving, killing him and two male passengers aged 17 and 18. Authorities arrested the driver of the Chevy on suspicion of driving under the influence.
“When a family loses a loved one to a drunk driver, they may hold the driver liable for their loss by filing a wrongful death claim,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Traffic accidents claimed the lives of or caused injury to 11,866 people in San Bernardino County in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Alcohol was a contributing factor to 1,351 of the collisions that resulted in injury or death that year, with San Bernardino ranking 39th out of 58 counties for DUI crashes in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Tyler Shane Correll and the two teens who were killed in the DUI crash.
